Members are invited to join us from 12:30 – 4 pm or 1 – 4 pm at Wayne County Community College District in Harper Woods as we raise voter awareness, register voters for the 2024 elections and celebrate our diversity.  Help us set up or help us staff our table.

JUNE 20 – CLIMATE CHANGE: THIS IS HUMANITY’S MOMENT

LWVMI Environmental Network Group will present, via Zoom at 7 pm, an important discussion featuring The Climate Reality Project’s Robin Gleason, a geologist, educator, polar expert and League member, and Jackie Goodman, an anthropologist, retired professor at Eastern Michigan University, and experienced presenter on climate change.  This educational presentation is hosted by LWV Washtenaw County.  All details and registration information can be found on their website:

JUNE 25 – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO MAIL ABSENTEE BALLOTS IN GPF

  • WHEN:  June 25, 11 am – noon
  • WHERE: Pier Park, Grosse Pointe Farms
  • WHY:  Serve Your Community.  Help serve the Grosse Pointe Farms community by volunteering an hour of your time to prepare absentee voter ballot envelopes for mailing. Sign up by emailing elections@grossepointefarms.org and indicating your willingness to participate. All you need to bring is yourself! They need 10-20 volunteers.

JUNE 27-30 – LWVUS CONVENTION IN WASHINGTON DC

Eight members of LWVGP will be attending the convention either in person or virtually.  They will also be conducting a workshop at the convention about our efforts to stop book banning in GP and in Michigan.  Our impact will be felt nationwide!   Updates will follow.
